In 1999 a new Automobile category arises in Brazil, the Pick-up
Racing.
In 2000, it was officially confirmed by the Brazilian Automobile
Confederation and then the public could watch the tough dispute
of Vans reaching more than 200 km/h in the trails. Its first
official racing took place on April 8th, in the same year, in
Tarumã city in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. In 2002,
the championship was named Petrobras Pick-up Racing CUP.
The vans Chevrolet S10, Dodge Dakota and Ford Ranger have been
adapted to the reality of the Brazilian race trails and equipped
with the Alujet wheels, always present in the world of competition.
